Dear San Francisco Section Members,

I hope you are all doing well! I have three updates to share as we continue building a stronger, more connected amateur radio community across our seven counties.

1. Our San Francisco Section Website – Stay Informed and Get Involved

As your ARRL San Francisco Section Manager, I'd like to remind everyone about our Section website:

https://sanfranciscosection.org/

The website serves as a central hub for news, announcements, upcoming events, resources, volunteer opportunities, and activities across San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt, and Del Norte counties.

I aim to publish updates every Monday, but I need your help to make this a true reflection of our community! Whether you're organizing a club event, participating in a contest, activating a park or summit, supporting public service, or working on an interesting radio project, I'd love to hear about it.

Please send me your stories, photos, and announcements. Let's showcase the incredible work happening throughout our Section!

2. Join Our San Francisco Section Discord Community

We've also launched a San Francisco Section Discord server, a free online space where amateur radio operators across our seven counties can connect, exchange ideas, ask questions, share projects, and stay informed.

Whether you're newly licensed or have been on the air for decades, whether your interests lie in emergency communications, contesting, public service, technical experimentation, or simply meeting fellow hams, there's a place for you.

Interested in joining? Simply email me, and I'll send you an invitation.

Let's use this opportunity to bring our geographically diverse Section closer together!

3. Pacificon 2026 Is This Weekend – October 16–18!

Pacificon is almost here! This Friday through Sunday, October 16–18, we'll gather for one of the West Coast's premier amateur radio conferences.

We're building exciting momentum this year, with more vendors, growing attendance, and a fantastic lineup of presentations, workshops, exhibits, and activities.

I'm also excited to share that we've launched a brand-new Pacificon mobile app to make your conference experience even better. You can explore the program, plan your visit, and navigate the conference, all from your phone.

Download the Pacificon app before you arrive:

• iPhone / iPad: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pacificon-conference/id6803300487

• Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pacificon.app

I look forward to seeing many of you at Pacificon this weekend. Please come and say hello!

Finally, thank you for everything you do to support amateur radio in our Section. Our strength comes from the enthusiasm, generosity, and volunteer spirit of our members. Together, we can continue to grow participation, strengthen our clubs, and make amateur radio more visible and accessible throughout Northern California.
